The standard font family used by the tango.info website and by new tango.info print products has been changed to Noto Sans.

Characteristic of Noto Relevance for tango.info
Noto Sans offers different shapes for upper case Latin I and lower case Latin l as well as for the numeral 1, compare: Il1. It also offers different shapes for Latin upper case O and the numeral 0, compare: O0. Helping in checking correctness of texts.
All Noto fonts are released under the Open Font License 1.1 Helping tango.info's mission of open distribution of information.

Noto fonts cover several scripts and plans by the publisher exist to cover more

  1. "As of September 2016, Noto fonts support all scripts/writing systems defined in Unicode 6.1."
  2. "We plan to extend character/script coverage to cover 100% of Unicode 9.0 except for CJK."
