At first the support person did insist on me giving her my billing address. I told her that I am not aware of such an address. She said it is needed for security. The I asked her where I can find it. She said "in your account". Then I said: "OK. I will give it to you, but first you give me my password."
She: "We don't have access to that."
Me: "Me neither." (That's why I contacted Amazon.com some days ago ;-))
After some time a password reset for amazon@example.com was send. Log-in using the browser where another account was logged in failed. Using another browser it was finally possible to get access as the primary user.
All other email address than tc@example.com were deleted from within the account.

This e-mail was sent to com.amazon@example.com Please note that you must use this e-mail address to access your account in Associates Central or when contacting Associates Customer Service.
If I try to log in with that email address - for which I had the password all the time, and had no problem to log-in, it now says "The e-mail address and password you are using are not connected to an Associates account."
