TangoSud Project

TangoSud Project intends to provide a usable database for tango venues. Primarily designed with MySQL for tango sites in the South of France, this project is being rewritten here by using wiki tools.

Three types of information are expected:

• the tango cities: they are defined in wiki.tango by their UN/LOCODE
• the tango venues: any place where one can dance tango, these venues are related to tango cities
• the tango organizers: any person or association or whatever who organizes tango parties in tango sites

All this information is stored in this wiki.tango, TangoSud Project uses some wiki features to provide updated list of milongas available in a city for instance.

Warning (2008-10-23): this project is really at its initial stage... The test bed for this project is Aix-en-Provence and its milonga places.

The project covers parts of Southern France.

How To

To be relevant to the TangoSud Project:

• wiki pages of venues must contain:
  • the Template:venue in order to be processed by <dpl> tags
  • the Category:UN/LOCODE statement (UN/LOCODE is the identifier of the venue city, see http://unlocode.hmap.info/)
• wiki pages of cities must contain:
  • the Category:TangoSud statement: this will enable the online directory of relevant cities.
  • the <dpl> block defined here (TBD).
  • option: the Template:city will be useful for describing cities.
