Tango.info user name: Difference between revisions

Please

provide an email address during account creation. Currently we can not stop you from editing without a confirmed email address, but in future for security reasons we may do so. Maybe tango.info must be able to identify you.
for your username
- use exactly 8 (ocho) letters of the latin alphabet (abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz). No spaces, dots, hyphens, äöüéíóú, etc. The first letter may be upper case (ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ)
- avoid using the word tango. Here we are all Tangofrank, Tangotobias, Tanguero2000, tangoholic etc.
after registration it would be nice if you write something about yourself on your user page. E.g. User:Tobiasco or at least, it would be nice if you say in which country you live.

Yes, it may sound a little bit crazy, but here are some reasons.

otherwise the first users get short names and later ones long names. this could be considered not fair.
gives the wiki a stronger identity.
presenting all username in a list gives a more harmonious picture if they are equal length.
equal length is also more practical in tables.
